[How did the DIY plastering go?]
It was easy to apply even for beginners, and I was happy that the finish turned out smoother than I expected. On the day of the event, we had some of our regular customers help out, and it was a fun painting session. I was especially happy when a customer told us, “That was fun. I’ll come visit once you open.” Above all, painting it ourselves strengthened our team spirit and made for a wonderful memory.
[ How does the plastered area look?]
I applied the shikkui at the gallery to-ka on the second floor, and I was worried that the smell might drift down to the dining area on the first floor. However, the smell of the shikkui after application was hardly noticeable and faded within a few days. I also feel that the plastered space on the second floor is effectively absorbing the hamburger smell that tends to fill the atrium. It creates a calm atmosphere, so I’m very satisfied.
[What I Like About It!]
I’d heard that a flat finish was difficult to achieve, but with guidance from the manufacturer, we were able to create a wall that I’m really happy with. I love how it makes the artwork and products on display really stand out!
