This shikkui was developed by refining traditional Japanese shikkui to meet the performance requirements, construction methods, and design aesthetics demanded by modern buildings, such as homes and large-scale facilities.Featuring two types of textures that create a rough, soft finish with visible brush strokes—similar to that found in Western architecture—and a color palette of nine shades designed to complement a wide range of interior styles and tastes, this is a new type of shikkui distinct from “traditional shikkui.”

・Shikkui is highly alkaline. When handling it, take care to avoid skin contact as much as possible and wear protective gear as needed. If it gets into your eyes, do not rub them; rinse them immediately with running water and seek medical attention right away.
・Avoid application when the ambient temperature or the surface temperature of the structure is 5°C or lower.
・Shikkui is an air-hardening material that hardens by absorbing carbon dioxide. To ensure proper curing, ensure good ventilation during and after application.
・Before application, thoroughly remix the material using a mixer.
・For optimal adhesion and workability, use a dedicated primer for substrate preparation.
・Since this is a natural material, slight color variations may occur from batch to batch.
・Due to the nature of shikkui, colored shikkui may exhibit uneven coloring or color variations. Please be fully aware of this before application.
・For wooden substrates or renovation projects, perform preliminary treatment—such as applying a stain blocker—before beginning application. *Note: Staining may still occur even after applying a stain blocker.
・Store the material away from direct sunlight in an airtight container to prevent exposure to air. Also, do not allow it to freeze.
・For other precautions, please refer to the SDS.
