Installation Precautions

・Be sure to add “Shirokabe Oil” when applying the mixture to exterior walls or areas exposed to water.

・If the mixture is to be left to cure for more than one week, add a binding agent (powdered ginkgo grass).

・Always apply “Shirokabe Sealer” to substrates that are buried in the ground or highly absorbent.

・Use a metal trowel as much as possible for troweling; use a plastic trowel only for finishing.

・Since efflorescence is more likely to occur in winter, keep the area as warm as possible and avoid application when temperatures are below 5°C.

FAQ

Q.

Among the "Shirokabe," "Premium Shirokabe," and "Shirokabe Super" options, which one would you recommend if I want to achieve an elegant and beautiful interior finish?

A.

We recommend the Premium Shirokabe finish. Because it uses paper fiber, the “fiber protrusions and fuzziness” characteristic of hemp fiber are less noticeable, resulting in a very fine-textured, pure white wall finish. Additionally, they provide an elegant, “matte” (low-gloss) texture that resists the unsightly sheen caused by light reflection, making them ideal for delicate interior finishes, patterned designs, and polished finishes.
